Simon Says Stamp Winter Twinkle Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my stop on the hop! Winter Twinkle has been one of my favorite kits so far, because I LOVE to emboss! To have a kit designed around embossing is pure BLISS!

I've put a card together featuring one of the bigger stamps from the Sparkle and Shine set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

I hand cut a circle from two sheets of cardstock to create a bit of a window, then sandwiched some sequins between a vellum piece and white card stock from behind.

I've stamped an additional message using Sea Glass ink and added it plus some sequins to finish my card.

I've put together a video of the process.

Giveaway!!!
Simon Says Stamp will be doing a giveaway from every stop on the hop. Please comment on this post (and all others along the way) by 6:00pm EST on Saturday, November 29. A winners list will be posted on the Simon blog Sunday, November 30.  Good Luck everyone!

Here's something fun. How did you first learn to heat emboss? Did someone teach you?

Your next stop on the hop is to the marvelous and super talented Kristina Werner!

If you happen to get lost along your way, Here's a list of all the stops:

DELIGHTFUL card and FABULOUS tutorial Shari!!!
LOVE your Liquid Platinum embossing, LOVE your CLEVER window and LOVE your vellum layer with the sequins inside - LOVE IT ALL!!!
I learnt about heat embossing online, I know I still have a lot to learn & practice, especially in getting a crisp finish with no "splatters" => I will definitely be using your "extra stamp" method to stop my block rocking and a powder anti-static bag to my next shopping list - THANK YOU for sharing your TOP TIPS and CREATIVE INSPIRATION :)

Cute card. Love the idea of a shaker card without really being a shaker card.

Beautiful card, Shari! I love everything about it! For me, I got into heat embossing by seeing some really cool things being done on cards at my local scrapbook store. I originally thought that just stamping would be enough for me and that I didn't need to heat emboss, but I quickly caved. The same thing happened for copic markers... and embossing paste... and now it's stitched dies... what'll be next?!?

Beautiful, Shari! I think I learned embossing from a friend of mine many many moons ago... She used to be a rep for Close To My Heart, so I got addicted to this craft through her!

Gorgeous - heat embossing is one of my favorite techniques. I first saw it demonstrated at a stamping party so I went out and bought myself a heat embossing tool and started embossing. I am now on my third heat embossing tool; I used the first two so much they just quit working.

Simply elegant card, Shari! Love your soft color combination, and the idea of sandwiching the sequins between the vellum & cardstock. I really don't remember how I learned to heat emboss. I may have seen someone do it at a local scrapbooking store, but I'm not sure. It's been a LOOONG time, though! :) Anyway, thanks for sharing your card, and especially for doing the video of the process!

I first saw heat embossing done at a card demo at wedding fair, prompted me to buy a starter kit and here I am 7 years later with a crafting addiction :)
