I always have a problem getting started again after being away from cardmaking during a vacation or long weekend......

Those topics sound great, and the line-up of talent is amazing! I'd love a chance to take this class, thanks, Shari!

I've loved all the Online Card Classes I've taken - they're so inspiring!
thanks for a chance to win a spot in this one. I sometimes hit creative blocks and end up sitting at my craft table just staring at my supplies, which isn't that bad I guess because I love my supplies, LOL.

I don't know if I would call it a creative block but I actually stepped back from cardmaking for about a year or so. Switched into jewelry making which at the time I thought would be so much fun. I soon decided that my true passion was in the cardmaking. Still do dabble in the jewelry a bit though. I would love the chance to win a spot in the on-line classes.

I get creative block, or should I call it creative overload, when I have too many projects that I want to do. I get overwhelmed and just can't seem to make up my mind on where to start. By taking a class it focuses me and I can concentrate on what's at hand. I've already signed up for "Kick Start" and can't wait for it to start!

This is sure to be a fantastic class! Sometimes I go to Pinterest for a kick start, sometimes I clean my craft space and then I usually come across the wonderful canvas we made last year in the Inspiration Showcase class. How I'd love a chance to win a class from these amazing instructors!

Oh, creative blocks - hate them! I usually just try to wait it out and maybe do some blog hopping while 'blocked'. I've found that if I try to force it I just end up with cards I seriously hate...
Thanks for the chance to win a spot in this class, Shari! :)

I love sketches because they give me a start, as placement is always a big issue for me. As for colors I rely again on blogs that have a color combination for the week. These two areas really inspire me! Tks for a chance to win a spot in this class.

This class looks so interesting to me, I'm for sure signing up but my wallet would love for me to win ;-)

I always find myself in a rut after I make a single card! Yea, that's me! I feel like I don't have enough inspiration and I'm a big procrastinator too. Another factor is after I have a break such as vacation or the kids are sick, then I'm stuck again! I would love to have something to motivate me so that inspiration and creativity flows. Thanks!

Sherry Eckblad said...

It takes me forever to figure out a layout for my card. Once that is done the fun part starts which is picking out papers and an image to use. Would love to learn a way to kick start it all.

Sue McRae said...

I go through creative blocks when nothing seems to inspire me so I just ride it out either by not doing anything or by playing with inks and paints (no stamps) and making backgrounds on watercolour paper. Thanks for a chance to win a spot in this class!

Froggietalks said...

I find myself looking at sketches or colour combinations when I'm stuck. One of them usually gets me to thinking about what stamps to use, then I make the card. May hate it, but at least it gets the creative juices flowing again.

Laura S. said...

This class looks so fun! I would love to enter! :) I had creative blocks a couple of times. I usually have on for like 3 days or so and then my minds is full of ideas again! :)

Sue L said...

Oh, I would love to win a spot in the class! My creative blocks seem to be when I have an idea but I just can't seem to make it work on paper. Sometimes when I set the project aside and come back to it a few days or a week later, it will "work" then.

Dana D. said...

This class looks terrific. Thanks for the giveaway Shari. I get creative blocks all the time so this class is just right for me. Thanks to all the creative blogs out there I can just spend time looking at them all and then I get inspired.

Redanne said...

Oh dear, I get creative block most days! I love to craft and have what I think are brilliant ideas but when it comes to putting them into practice - they are zapped away from my memory.......so I look around blogs for inspiration. I took one of Jennifer's earlier classes and it was wonderful, thank you for chance to win this one! Crafty hugs, Anne x

I get overwhelmed by the stuff I have in my craft room! I feel like the inspiration comes when I cannot scrap ( work gets in the way) and when I have some time to play.....where's the inspiration gone?? ... So I end up not doing so much : ( I hope this class will come to rescue me!!

Okay, I figured out how to leave this comment after all. I have never had an online class. I need something to help me get off the dime in designing cards, the first steps thing. I just know you and the others are geniuses at this stuff. I need this!!

I seem to be inspired when I'm stuck at my desk at work. Then I get home in the evenings and the craft mojo is gone. :(

Jacqui Blondel said...

sometimes I just have to think about the person I am making a card for and try to incorporate some of their personality into it. other times I just get a stamp and then build around it but other times more often than not i sit at my craft desk and end up just sorting things out or rearranging and do nothing at all. my main problem is looking at everyone else's creativity instead of working on my own. I think I need to take that class whether I win or not!!!!!

Anonymous said...

If I get 'stuck' I tend to go back to my CAS 'go to' style and stop trying to make things too fancy. Usually I just pick one of my fave challenges and the inspiration starts from there!
Thanks so much for the chance to win, this class looks awesome!

U know I would love to win a spot. But I am so blessed to be finding so many talented designers on the blogs and you tube. You all are awesome. My biggest challenge I have is with color. I am always uncertain and I usually throw everything out b/c to me it looks to childish or just plain ugly. Help. Thanks for the chance to win. Can't wait.

I'd love to take this class! I seem to get creative blocks a lot lately. I find I get them the most when I actually have time to create! Thanks for the chance to win! :)

Thanks for chance to win a spot in this class... Definitely sounds interesting and like it'll be of great help, since we all experience creative block. Sometimes I get stuck when I want to use all the cute supplies I have, but can't choose which to leave out and which to include. Then it overwhelms me when I have to think about the pattern paper or ribbon that will go with that embellishment and other details. Can get frustrating. Listening to good music, selecting specific things to use and putting everything else away so that I challenge myself to use what I put out many times does help.

Trina said...

That happens to me all the time lately. I get my supplies out and just stare at them for awhile before giving up and doing something else. Thanks for the chance to win!

More often than nought as soon as I go to my craft desk I have a creative block. It is not a lack of inspiration it is putting into practice.

Barb said...

I've been in a creative slump this summer. I purchased a few things but just haven't done anything with them. I can use some inspiration to get back on track. Thanks for the opportunity.

SuZeQ said...

Creative blocks do happen, unfortunately. When they hit are typically when I have an order for somebody that is uber picky and demanding with lots of "must have ..." and most of the time these are out of my comfort zone. These are the times I just stand there and stare at my supplies. Eventually though - I do get over it!

Hi Shari ~ Thank you so much for a chance to win a spot in this class! I find that when I experience a creative block, I step way out of my comfort zone and create a card I wouldn't usually design (I go to sketches), and it gives my mind a rest. Works like a charm :-)
Fingers crossed here for spot in this class...thanks again!

Kristi said...

What an awesome way to earn a spot in class! Well I usually look at something for inspiration when I get a block, I did this just yesterday, it worked and my card turned out terrific!!

Barb said...

I seem to hit a creative slump more and more lately, so perfect timing for this class! I usually stamp an image and color to get my juices flowing again. Sure would be fun to see these talented artists during their creative process - brilliant idea for a class! Thanks for the chance, Shari! :)

Julie Hollinger said...

I usually get caught in a 'slump' whenever my art room is too messy to start something new... my table is piled with supplies from the previous projects, the floor has paper and embellishments spread out so i could see what my options were as i was working along... i'm a have-to-see-it-to-use-it king of person. So it's not so much that i don't have ideas, it's that i keep stalling because i have to attack the room first!

Maureen Chandler said...

When I hit a creative block, I need to clean up my craft room - put everything away and start with a clean workspace. That usually helps. Then I take out a few stamps or designer papers or both and get creating! Thanks so much for a chance to win - love these on-line classes!!

Doris said...

When I need a starting point for a card, I usually go to Splitcoast Stampers or some of my favorite blogs (Kristina Werner, for instance) to get ideas. Sometimes, it a color combo, or a sketch, or a new technique. When all else fails, I pick a stamp from my stash and "go with the flow."

Linda Smith said...

When I hit a creative block, I go through my paper stash for inspiration. Sometimes I close my eyes and pick a few stamp sets at random and focus on using just those sets. I have definitely gotten creative with this! Can't wait to see the ideas in the class.

Sally said...

I usually need go no further than your website to get the inspiration I need. I was not blessed with much originality so I need artists like yourself. Thanks for that and a chance to win!

to help my creative block(head!), I look for and stash a collection of photos that I have taken of pretty colors, patterns, designs, etc.
now with cameras in phones it's so easy to take a snap of something that catches my eye....it may even be an article of clothing being worn on a complete stranger standing in front of me in the check-out line in the grocery store!!
thank you for this opportunity!!

All the online classes have been great and definitely worth every penny of the cost. I get my inspiration from blogs. They help kick start my creative juices. Sometime, it is funny how I think I'll probably just copy what I've seen, but I then go off in another direction completely and make it my own.

Cindy C. said...

Oh do I get stuck!!! When I do I on-line, check the flickr group, the Hero Arts web site, the blogs I followed and then I get too many ideas and don't know where to begin! LOL So I love to win a spot in the class, thanks for the chance Shari!

When I am stuck for ideas I either pull out a sketch and hop to some blogs or galleries for inspiration. Just playing with supplies helps to kickstart too.

Thanks so much for the chance to win a spont in this class. I have no problem with Christmas cards (there are always beautiful images to work with), but my problem is making other cards (picking colors, paper, and just general design). What gets me jump started with these cards is to go to my favorite blogs and get some ideas then take off from there.

Rozy said...

Whenever I have a creative block i go surfing. I look at my favorite blogs and pictures I've saved for inspiration. If that doesn't work, I grab some favorite paper and just start!

Anonymous said...

I've been crafting for many years, then stamp collecting, then die collecting. I think for me, I'm really good at collecting and organizing and I must be very creative because I love to craft and diy, reuse, remake things. But I think having a ton of product is overwhelming. I've reached a state of getting it faster than I can use it, so it gets stored in a very organized system and I forget that I have it, until I'm digging for something in peticular and I go, oh yeah I forgot about this die or this stamp, or this paper. And sometimes I'm just stuck inside my own box. I got a new die the other day and it didn't do what I wanted it to do and I simply altered it, so I could use it the way I wanted to. LOL

Lisa said...

Thanks for the chance to win. I find that when I have a creative block, it's best for me to do something totally different for a bit, and then the creativity flows again!

Hi Shari, sometimes I thing having access to so many products causes some missing mojo. I find as I accumulate more stamps and dies, I have to be very organized. This also means keeping my work area clean, so as soon as I label things, they go into their proper category and I forget about them, unless I bought them for an immediate need or project. Or unless I come across them again while looking for something else. LOL Thanks for a chance to win a spot in this great class. Have a Great Crafty Day! =D

I'm currently experiencing a creative block regarding digital scrapbooking! I used to create pages all the time, being part of 6 creative teams! Right now, I'm only part of one CT. Love the idea of this class! I go through phases where I just can't seem to get started with the actual creating. I just spend hours and hours looking at other peoples stuff on the net.
