Faux Letter Press is easy, just ink up your embossing folder with SHADOW ink (because it works the best), put your paper in the folder and run it through your machine. Viola! This technique inks the valleys of the embossed paper. So cooool!!!
To finish things off... I added a colorful butterfly and a few pearls.
Enjoy!

This is so elegant! Love the faux letterpress!

ReplyDeleteLove the new look of your blog, Shari. Although I do miss seeing your smiling face at the top! Gorgeous card! Just love the way the vine looks in the window and the faux letter press turned out beautifully! See you in about a week, at Scrapfest. . .can't wait! :)

Just love these cards with the acetate panel and the foil branch is gorgeous - amazing card, Shari!
ReplyDeleteShari, you are so right about the shadow inks working best for the faux letterpress technique.
ReplyDeleteI tried the catseye chalk, adirondack and distress. None gave even coverage and the adirondack was way to dark. Hope to post what I
created soon.
Love the letterpress technique and that foil--so yummy! Love this card!

Just gorgous!! I must give the faux letterpress another go with the shadow inks. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! Such an elegant technique and the shadow ink does work wonderfully. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow - this is so beautiful. Love the crisp finish using the shadow inks with the embossing folders - I've only used distress inks which give a "messy" look. And love that pp punched butterfly.
