The NOT so glamorous Shari!

Please don't laugh at me..haha...this is what I looked like last night after getting all wired up for my sleep study.

Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well, I woke up so many times... it wasn't so much the wires... I was just sleeping light (camera shy I suppose). Plus the guy in the next room was snoring really loud!  I'll get the results in a couple weeks.  Oh, the reason I have gone in for this study is that I snore really bad and I am tired all the time.  I wake up just as tired as when I go to bed, and sometimes I can't get to sleep.  It's crazy!

Okay, now you can laugh.... :o)

It does look funny! But it had a purpose! That really sucks that you have such a hard time with sleeping! I really hope this study brings some answers!

My first thought was how the heck are you going to go to sleep?

Oh, no way I would be able to sleep like that! I hope that they are able to help you!

It doesn't matter how you look as long as you can discover why you aren't sleeping well. Good luck with everything!

I definitely will not laugh at you. It's important to do the sleep study! This is "normal" for sleep study. Hope it will help you.

I sleep like a log but I think even I'd have had trouble sleeping with that lot stuck onto me lol. Hope your results prove to be useful. Px

Same here! Only good thing is husband wears hearing aides, so he can't hear me! I hate being tired all the time, too. And I used to be able to fall asleep standing up in a corner...(figuratively)..now sometimes I see 3AM on the clock.
Getting old is for the birds!
Hope you get some help from the study.
Have a good week.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I DID laugh. I tried very hard not to, but couldn't help it. Not so much at the photos but at your explanation. Love the way you write and knowing you, while you were posting this, you were laughing too. It really is crazy all the tape and wires. . .how in the heck do they expect you to sleep, for crying out loud!? I really do hope the results give you some answers, Shari! Hugs! :)

I'm with everyone else... how are you supposed to sleep with all those wires? Esp the ones going around your nose and face! Hope you can find some answers Shari! Hugs!

Hi Shari. My husband went through what you're doing years ago. Long story short...his sleep study determined that he has sleep apnea. He got a CPAP machine. It took a little getting used to but it has done WONDERS for him. I wish you well with your sleep study and the results!

Oh my gosh....at first I thought this was your Halloween picture. How could one possibly sleep in that get-up? Sure hope it nets some positive info and help. Sweet dreams....

How could anyone be expected to sleep with that kind of get up on? You poor thing.....I hope you get some good answers and results after a night of what looks to be total torture. Thanks for being so brave to show us how silly you look- I would never have the courage to do that!

My hubby was diagnosed with sleep apnea over a year ago. He used to snore SO BAD! It affected my sleep. Now that he uses a CPAP machine..no more snoring. It did take him a few weeks to get used to the machine, but he noticed the difference right away. I had to get used to the noise his machine makes. He sleeps better than I do now. Hope they can figure out how to help you sleep better, Shari!

You had me smiling! That's some gear. I always thought it was difficult to sleep when you're all wired up. Hope the near future has sweet dreams for you.
I feel tired all the time when I eat the food I'm allergic to . . . gluten and dairy. My first thought when I wake up is "I need more sleep". Hope it's not that for you.

I've always wondered how they expect people to sleep with all that jazz hooked up to you! I have a hard time sleeping also, but mine is menopause...sucks! I hope their results get you some relief, as I KNOW how you feel!!!

I'm glad no one took my picture when I had this done! Of course, I look like Darth Vader going to bed now because of the mask on the C-Pap machine that I was given to use to help with my snoring. Maybe they have come up with something better by now?

hi Shari, I'm with Dawna! I had the same test done and I'm glad nobody took my picture with all the gear on! You're too funny! Like you, I was camera shy and didn't think that I slept at all, but apparently, you do sleep enough for them to analyze your sleep pattern. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and have been sleeping with a CPAP machine for 2 years now. Now I sleep and my husband too...LOL no more exhaustion or falling asleep in the middle of day... If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea and have some questions, don't hesitate to email me! Good luck! (remember me - I'm from Montreal, we met at CHA...)
