They've Hatched

For years now we've been fortunate to have Praying Mantis's reside in our bushes around the house. One of the thrills is to watch the pods for hatch-lings as each one contains hundreds of baby's. This spring we examined the garden and counted over a dozen pods. That's a lot of critters. I missed that hatching process, but was able to catch a shot of this one yesterday.

Cool isn't it?
:o)

Look who I got to see....

Isn't she pretty? This is looking at her in the background of Ellis island. We took a drive through New York, Time Square, Central Park, Holland and Lincoln Tunnel....crazy driving, white knuckler for sure!!! I'll report more about it when I get home.

I'm at Ranger U, had a great day of creating. I'll get pictures up tomorrow of us makin stuff in our classes. So FUN!!!

Until tomorrow, enjoy!

An owl and an update

Isn't she CUTE? I couldn't resist adding some extra special shoes, pearls and a hat. LOVE this owl! She looks like she's ready for bridge or bingo night.

I leave for Ranger U tomorrow, can't wait to enjoy a weee bit of time off. It will be great to be a student and just learn and create! I'm looking forward to spending time with friends like Wendy and Carol.

So what have I been up to? Why haven't I done a coloring video?....well, along with the new Summer release, the Hero Blog, my technique and product of the month assignments, I've been working on Christmas for CHA, and samples for Archiver's Scrapfest. So much all at once!

I'll have a chance on the plane to read up on my camera (the video settings) so when I get home I'll shoot one for you. I've been working on my Hero blog projects too, need to have them ready before I leave since my week starts next Monday. I'll be shooting one for that as well, might just do two in one sitting, you know?

So to entice you a bit, here's a sneak of what I've got planned for next week. All I can tell you is to get your bifocals on and think small.....

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!
I'll try to blog from Jersey...
:o)

Video Update

I did shoot my Gamsol / Color Pencil video, but after viewing it, decided that I needed to get better close ups so you could see the details of the technique, but they came out terribly blurry. I'll re-shoot with my digital camera, I might have better luck.
So sorry!

Hero Stamp Craft ...Enabler alert!!

I had a blast making these paperweights....they are so easy. All you need to do is trace the pattern of the base, design what you want and stick it together. Bhadda bing bhadda boom!
:o)

Things are rolling along for me, I've been productive already this month...it's going by so fast! I'll be blogging next Friday on the Hero Blog...we are doing an "inspired by" week. I've picked out six people (from the Hero Flickr photo pool) that I'll be lifting from.

On Monday, I will post a video here of coloring with Prisma pencils using Gamsol. It's quite an addictive technique with fantastic results. If you want to pick up some supplies...get Prisma Color Pencils, stumps and odorless mineral spirits. I've left you with links but you can find most of these things at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn fabrics. Here's also a little tutorial that I found at Inky Antics, they also have all the supplies HERE. Below is an example. :o)

Have a great week-end!
see you Monday

I've been meaning....

to photograph this small but very HANDSOME gift I had received since February. My friend Paul had taken some classes from me while I was in the UK. Now this is dedication to the craft.... Paul made this for me in his hotel room in between days of my classes. Oh and I need to add, cleverly disguised under the beautiful exterior is a plastic hotel lotion bottle.

Tonight as I was photographing the Hero Arts Stamp Craft and my Technique Article, I took it down from the shelf (right above the screen of my laptop...which I look at it all the time)... to finally pay homage.

So this is a shout out to you my friend Paul Browning!!!!
Sorry it took me so long to share.....Thanks
:o)

and...as some of you may know.....I did have a birthday last Friday, and I picked up a gift for myself (I'm hard to shop for, it's just easier this way)....I got myself a new digi camera. It's a simple Canon Powershot with a 12x zoom, much better than my old (but reliable) Fuji. This is a step up, has a lot of extras that I need to read about (yeah, sure).

I received some cool birthday cards...like this one from my friend Kay (we've been online stamping friends for over ten years)...this is so cool...it's a cootie catcher card...Thanks Kay!!!!
:o) It's beautyfull!

So, if that's not enough....my good friend Jennifer sent me an email to check out her blog...and this is what I found....

It brought a tear to my eye...so sweet!. I'm so lucky to have such great friends. :o)
I hope everyone is enjoying their week!
smooches!!!
