My coloring video

I finally did it, decided to use coloring for my technique article so I could get it done...been swamped again. Hope it inspires you to try Gamsol with your pencils. Above is the sample card, I gave it to my niece for graduating junior college. :o)

Enjoy!

I love coloring with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. It always looks so great when your finished. I watched your video and it is great. Very well explained and makes a person want to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic card, such vibrant colours. I only just saw a card a friend had done with similar technique then all of a sudden, it's in a craft magazine I'm reading and you have a technique video. If anyone asks me what i mean about pencils and spirit, i send them your youtube link. BTW anyone in thr UK wants to try this out - The spirit you can buy from most art stores is SANSODOR

Thank you very much Shari! I like your video-tutorials a lot! I agree with retiredheather - "very well explained and makes a person want to give it a try". I am very new in stamping and coloring looks very complicated for me. But your tutorials are very helpful and I do want to try it! Thank you very much for sharing!

What exactly is a stomp please?

Shari Carroll said...

Hi Bren,
A Stumps is the tool used to blend the pencil pigment, it's a tightly compacted stick of paper. It can be sanded down so you can change colors and not contaminate your work.

Hope that helps!

Shari.. When doing the colored pencils you need to be careful what ink you use on the outline. Does the gamasol smear any of the inks? Or can you use any type of ink for the outline?

Shari Carroll said...

Hi Stampersuzz, I use Memories black dye ink, you could also use Ranger Archivle as well.
Thanks!

shari,
does the gamsol has any odor at all? I bought and "odorless" mineral spirit at Michael's but the odor is so strong I can't use it.

Hi Buffy, Yep, Gamsol...NO smell. But I must remind everyone, even though it does not smell, it does have vapors and should be used in a ventilated area.
Thanks!
