This my dear friends is a ........

Pokey tool. I picked this baby up in the UK after hearing much discussion, rave reviews....and naughty little jokes about its name.

I didn't realize what I was missing out on until I got one. Since I've been home and have put it in my handy container of tools, I've picked it up to use for several little tasks. It's great for pushing ribbon through a (small) hole, lifting glue dots off the paper backing, piercing paper for thread (or just piercing paper), threatening my family to bring me a cold Pepsi, stabbing paper pieces that have dropped to the floor just out of reach, using the sharp little tip to hold tiny little things in place, and on and on!!! I'm so impressed.

Now for malfunctioning things that are ticking me off.....I've been having email issues. I've heard from friends and co-workers that some of my emails are bouncing back while others are just lost out there somewhere in cyber space. I've contacted my service provider and after several attempts on their part to send me a test mail, my problem has them stumped, I did not receive them intended mail. So I wait for them to return my call....tapping my foot like sonic the hedge hog......arggggg. So, if you have written to me and I have not responded....chances are that I've not gotten your mail.

Feelin a bit feisty tonight so while I'm on the peeve trail here, I've got another one. This has been bothering my for some time now. Do you know how many times I've washed my hair with conditioner first, or have shampooed twice instead of the typical shampoo then condition routine? Why you ask? Because there is only one place where I can't wear glasses or contact lenses and that's in the shower!!! Why do manufacturers print "shampoo" and "conditioner" so small on the packaging? We have large numbered phones (can wear your glasses to see those), we have print sizes available for our computers (also another great place to look through your fabulous expensive eye-wear).....but the shower...let's think about it.....water on glass...not a good mix.

Okay, I feel better now....venting done!
:o)

That does seem like a great tool - may have to hunt one down myself :)

And do I ever hear you on the shampoo/conditioner thing!! I'm legally blind (but fully correctable) so stuff like that is a challenge. I now wrap a piece of medical tape around my conditioner bottle so I can "feel" the difference. Hope this helps!

love the tool, wish I could have one. When you buy your new shampoo and conditioner take a "sharpie" marker, it is waterproof and write a giant "s" on the shampoo and a giant "c" on the conditioner. Then ever without your glasses you should be able to tell the difference.

Been there, done that, too! Wrap a rubber band around the shampoo, and use the banded one FIRST...easy, peasy!

I'm thinking I need a "pokey tool". Right now I just use a yarn needle, but I think a nice handle would be a good addition.

ROTFLMBO!!! Oh, Shari, Shari, SHARI!!! I need bifocals. And, I know it. I just didn't like the fact that the eye doc told me when I hit 40, I should consider it. I have been resisting going back to see the eye doc. I am now 45. Shamefully vain, I confess. Thanks for the fabulous chuckle today--we share the same peeve! LOL!

I have a pokey tool from right here in the USA & I couldn't craft without it. It's an old ice pick. Mine happens to be handed down from my family, but you can still find them sometimes in kitchen specialty stores or old fasioned hardware stores that carry kitchen items.
